About the Build.....
One look at the trophies this truck has racked up is all it takes to get the feel for the quality. Those are not some car-park-car-show trophies. To win best of class in Detroit, you better bring your A-game and then some.
This body/frame combination throws up the challenge of that silly placement GM came up with for the HVAC unit. Hanging it on the firewall and covering it with a lump of plastic certainly increased the legroom for the passenger, but it was downright mean spirited to anyone who wants to make a RHD. Put simply, the HVAC unit has to find a new home. That takes time to get right, especially when considering keeping the glass de-misted in the UK climate.
There is already a pool started by the LugNutz as to how much we can shorten the bed. My money is on cutting off 24" to make it a standard short bed. The guy wielding the saw wants to cut more. If you want it to stay full length, it may be the biggest challenge of all.
